Just one more level, he said. It’ll be fun, he said

  • Old-school 1-bit LCD-style visuals
  • Climb higher and higher to beat your own score
  • DERE Easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans

From the brilliant mind behind the DERE EXE games comes a new one-button retro love letter in the form of Climb Knight, AppSir Games’ latest mobile entry. The deceptively simple arcade game tasks you with climbing as high up as you possibly can without falling to your death below, dodging traps and outmanoeuvring monsters along the way.

Described as a tribute to “the golden age of LCD handhelds, vintage brick games, Nokia keypad phones, and Palm Computers”, Climb Knight features 1-bit LCD-style visuals enhanced with iOS haptic feedback to ramp up the immersion. You can chase after your own high score just because, or compete with other would-be champs in the global leaderboards. Plus, you can unlock really cool characters too while you’re at it.

Floors get progressively more difficult as you go along though, so as the challenges pile on, you might just feel compelled to keep going with just one more level – famous last words, as they say.

By the way, if you’ve been a fan of the AppSir universe for a while now, you might even spot some Easter eggs if you’re observant enough. And if you’re curious about the studio’s past titles, we’ve got a handy-dandy DERE Vengeance review to give you an idea.

In the meantime, if you’re eager to join in on all the retro climbing fun, you can do so by checking out Climb Knight on Google Play and the App Store. It’s a free-to-play title with in-app purchases to remove pesky ads.

You can also join the community of followers on the official Facebook page to stay updated on all the latest developments, visit the official website for more info, or take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the title’s vibes and visuals.
