Why is it we love killing zombies? Is it something to do with the simple pleasure of blasting something that’s not quite human to bloody scraps? Or is it because it’s a little more visceral than just robots or monsters? Well, either way, the tower defence genre is one with a gory vein of zombies running right through it, like in Zombiepunk: Fight & Survive.
Fortunately, Zombiepunk has a little bit more edge to it than that. For one this isn’t a simple top-down puzzle game, you’ll also be exploring a relatively small but still interesting environment to gather resources and fight zombies on foot. It’s a little more Fortnite: Save the World than Bloons TD.
Overall then, while Zombiepunk doesn’t stand out by being some new take on the genre it does seem to have consistent aesthetics and fairly challenging (looking, at least) gameplay.
Braaains
The zombie survival genre is one of those that has a difficult time on mobile. Sure, stuff like 4X-MMO State of Survival has its place, but I feel there’s a genuine hunger for a simple, straightforward zombie game. And there are definitely some examples out there that Zombiepunk slots better alongside and that prove that all you need is a baseball bat, some solid walls and plenty of drooling undead to make a good time.
