PGA Tour 2K25, the latest installment of 2K Sports’ golf simulator franchise, just got a surprise demo — and if you’re planning to buy the full game when it launches later this month, the trial will let you get a head start on your created golfer’s career mode.

Known as PGA Tour 2K25 First Look, the demo includes a few different chunks of the full game. First, you can hop into the character customization suite and create up to three MyPlayer golfers, taking them from an overall rating of 65 up to 70. Then you can take your MyPlayer onto one course, the back nine of TPC Scottsdale, which includes the famous par-3 16th hole that’s surrounded by grandstands. (These nine holes are available only for local, not online, play.) The full game’s entire training mode is also available in the demo, along with some quests where you can build up your own skills.

As long as you buy PGA Tour 2K25 on the same platform on which you play the demo, you’ll be able to take your created golfer(s) — including their character progression — into the full game. You can download the demo now on PlayStation 5, Windows PC (Steam only), and Xbox Series X.

A demo is a new thing for the PGA Tour 2K series — there wasn’t one available for either of PGA Tour 2K25’s predecessors, 2020’s PGA Tour 2K21 and 2022’s PGA Tour 2K23. The full game launches for everyone on Feb. 28, but those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition ($99.99) or Legend Edition ($119.99) will be able to start playing one week early on Feb. 21.
