Marvel Contest of Champions brings Spider-Woman to the fray as the threat of the Eidol Champion Lumatrix looms

After the Dark Phoenix saga, Kabam has just released a new update for Marvel Contest of Champions, which sees Spider-Woman swing into the superhero fighter, joined by the first Eidol Champion of 2025, Lumatrix. Alongside their arrival, you can take on new quests, special events, and the latest chapter of Act 9.2, all while chasing valuable rewards.

Spider-Woman joins Marvel Contest of Champions on April 17th, bringing her spider-enhanced abilities and espionage expertise to The Contest. Meanwhile, Lumatrix makes their debut on April 9th, a dazzling yet dangerous assassin created by The Founders.

Unlike traditional fighters, Lumatrix isn’t just about style – their light manipulation powers mask a deadly intent. If you’re looking to add Lumatrix to your roster, you will need to collect Light Essence from Battlegrounds, Saga Incursions, and Raids, with the event running through June 4th.

In addition, the new quest, Spy Games, sees Black Widow enlisting Spider-Woman’s help to investigate the arrival of the Eidols. There’s danger and deception at every turn, and these two elite spies are the key to uncovering the truth behind Lumatrix’s sinister light show. The event runs from March 9th to May 7th.

Furthermore, Deadpool is also getting in on the action with Red & Dead’s Discount Shed, running from April 25th to May 2nd. Red Guardian has persuaded him to share a stash of special rewards, including event currency, crystals, and bonuses. Right after, from May 7th to 14th, the Heart of Fire Sale gives you a shot at valuable Champions and rewards through Heart of Fire crystals.

Later this month, the Thunderbolts Daily Super Event shakes up the seven-day supply drop, running April 18th through May 2nd. Achieving milestones earns Poolshields, which can be exchanged for rewards during Red & Dead’s Discount Shed. Daily supply drops will also be available from April 25th to May 23rd, so logging in regularly means more free rewards.
