Metro Quester launches with an interesting retro-inspired take on your average dungeon-crawling RPG

- Experience 1980s flair as crafted by a renowned designer
- 24 characters and 8 classes
- Out now on iOS and Android for $14.99
Good things come to those who wait, as after it was announced a week ago, Metro Quester is out now on iOS and Android, offering an interesting twist to your average dungeon-crawling RPG on mobile. And I do mean that it’s incredibly interesting, given how it’s all presented via retro visuals and with an almost text-based approach – definitely something that can make it stand out from Kemco’s usual releases.
You’ll dive into a post-apocalyptic world as crafted by manga artist Kazushi Hagiwara, with 24 characters you can discover from among eight classes. The system itself was designed by Hironori Kato (of Elden Ring TRPG fame), with plenty of 1980s flair and what promises to have satisfying combos in battle as well.
This is thanks to the customisable weapons you can tinker around with, along with a cool bestiary and the beloved New Game+ that completionists often love to aim for.
One thing I did notice is that it doesn’t offer controller support at the moment, but based on the trailer above, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be that much of a big deal, given how it’s played. If you’re on the hunt for something that doesn’t rely solely on the touchscreen, however, you can always take a peek at our list of the best games with controller support on Android!
In the meantime, if you’re eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking out Metro Quester on the App Store and on Google Play. It’s a premium purchase at $14.99 a pop or your local equivalent.
