  • Grid Expedition is a grid-based strategy RPG
  • Take on a mysterious underground city and its host of monsters
  • Upgrade and level-up your party as you go

Dungeon crawling has always been a favourite of gaming, from the humble pen and paper RPG to multiplayer mobile hits like Dark and Darker. And while Grid Expedition from zebraup doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it does promise a fun and engaging roguelike dungeon-crawling experience.

As you might expect from the name, Grid Expedition focuses on a simple grid-based battling format. You play as the titular adventurer Grid (yes, really) and his companions as they uncover a mysterious, abandoned underground city. You’ll face off against a whole manual’s worth of monsters as you explore.

When the battles get started, however, you’ll zoom into the aforementioned grid-based battlefield where you move around and aim to get into the right place to take down your enemies. As you slay enemies, you can grab gold for upgrades, or head across discarded weapons to up your damage potential, all while dodging obstacles and the vicious monsters themselves.

Naturally, Grid Expedition promises plenty of additional content to explore. You’ll need to manage your individual team members, their abilities and HP, while coping with monsters that have distinct attack patterns and powers. You’ll also be able to upgrade your party both with standard RPG progression and by finding Goddess Statues, which grant you rewards.

Ultimately, Grid Expedition comes packed with as much as you’d want or expect from an RPG. But whether or not it’s for you depends on whether you gel with the distinct grid-based battles. So jump into Grid Expedition on iOS and Android to see if it’s for you!
