Once Human to launch PvP spin-off Once Human: RaidZone

While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, NetEase’s Once Human has proven to be pretty popular with audiences both on mobile and PC. But even so, in a surprisingly fast move, NetEase is set to launch a solely PvP experience with the upcoming Once Human: RaidZone arriving soon in early access!

Now, Once Human: RaidZone is not a massively different release; in fact, it looks to be built on the bones of Once Human itself. It’s intended to serve as a ‘sub-brand’ and will feature a focus solely on PvP with the same survival experience that’s present in the mainline release.

You’ll take on other players in Rust-like combat across the landscape, building your own defensive strongholds and using a variety of weapons. Naturally, there’s also a curve in the power of your equipment as you go from a simple wooden hut to hide in, to veritable concrete fortresses, and going from crossbows to assault rifles.

Once more with emphasis

While Once Human: RaidZone does look to be quite a fun release, there are a few potential problems that look to be evident. Indeed, it’s the fact that RaidZone is so distinct that it is a double-edged sword, as it seems to lack what drew people into Once Human’s stylish supernatural aesthetic. And that risks putting it at odds with a veritable swathe of other survival shooter experiences on mobile.
