AFK Journey heads under the earth with the new season Echoes of Dissent, available now

- That’s on top of a whole new storyline exploring the underground kingdom of Sal’Thorin
As the weather heats up, you might sometimes wish you could duck under the cool earth to stay out of the sun. Well, in AFK Journey’s newest season, Echoes of Dissent, you can! But be warned, the problems underground aren’t any less severe than the ones you encountered on the surface.
That’s because Echoes of Dissent takes Merlin to Brimstone Village to investigate bubbling tensions. But things quickly turn from bad to worse, with the underground elvish kingdom of Sal’Thorin threatened by a dwindling divine dew, without which its inhabitants are slowly turning into monstrous beings.
Fortunately, to help you out, you’ll have two new key characters to aid you! Zanie is a dwarvish inventor with a knack for making mechanical allies, while Indris serves as captain of the Sal’Thorin Guard, but his misgivings may just bring him over to the side of Merlin and their allies.
Dwarves are natural sprinters, very dangerous over short distances
While those hoping for a purely dwarf-focused experience may regret the intrusion of elves (as dwarves tend to do), you can’t exactly gripe about the content this update comes jam-packed with. Aside from Zanie and Indris, we’ve also got the debut of Valara, Daimon and Kulu, all of whom will add an extra spark to your lineup.
Last but by no means least in terms of highlights, we’ve also got the 1v1 elimination tournament, Sunlit Showdown. Where you’ll enter the battlefield (without carryover progression) to test the mettle of your heroes against three difficulty tiers guaranteed to keep even the most seasoned player on edge, with six rounds to compete through and valuable loot at the end!
