Feed the Deep takes you beneath the surface for a terrifying roguelike adventure

  • Feed the Deep is an underwater roguelike adventure from ex-Fruit Ninja dev Luke Muscat
  • Explore the depths of an underwater cave system, gather resources and buy upgrades
  • Avoid the horrific things lurking in the water

I think that, when it comes to things to diving into a deep cave system comes a close second only to jumping into an active volcano. No room to move, no light, and not knowing what’s around the corner? Well, if that statement makes you think, ‘boy, that sounds good!’ I encourage you to give the upcoming roguelike Feed the Deep a go instead.

Feed the Deep is straightforward. You’re a diver exploring a lengthy underground cave system. Akin to something such as Dave the Diver, you’ll need to slowly upgrade your equipment to make your way deeper and deeper into the depths.

Of course, it wouldn’t be any fun if there weren’t a bit of danger involved. And in the future world of floating cities, which you inhabit, you’ll find that the cave system is inhabited by a lot more than some random fish and crustaceans, all of whom don’t take kindly to intruders.

Dive, Dive, Dive

Feed the Deep is the very definition of a roguelike and promises to offer endless hours of fun with randomised caverns offering a deep level of exploration. You’ll be able to approach each expedition either with caution as you drop markers to find your way back, or be daring and dive right in, which, of course, has never been known to go wrong where cave diving is concerned.

Add to that a soundtrack composed by Jetpack Joyride contributor Cedar Jones, and I’d say you have a winner of a release to add to your ‘to-play’ list.

But in the meantime, are you stuck for stuff to do this weekend? Well, don’t fret because there are always great releases out there on mobile. Check in on our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week and find out for yourself!
