Taking care of your body can be a difficult proposition. Be it eating well, exercising or getting enough sleep. And it certainly doesn’t help that your body’s immune cells have to run and gun through hordes of bacteria and viruses! Well, maybe that last part isn’t necessarily true, but it’s the main gameplay element in Bodyguard: Cellwars, which is available for purchase now!
As you might expect, Bodyguard sees you taking on the role of the aforementioned immune cells, picking from three different characters with their different strengths and weaknesses, before blasting your way through the hordes of invading cells. You’ll need to navigate around the body, taking out wave after wave as you upgrade your abilities.
Bodyguard itself is built for a variety of players. For those of you wanting a simple narrative and challenge, there’s a story mode. Those looking for a way to pass the time can jump into endless mode, and finally, for the most skilled of immune cells, there’s hardcore mode!
Take care of yourself
If you added in a little more educational content, Bodyguard wouldn’t be out of place on something like BBC Bitesize. But while the concept is quite unusual, gameplay-wise, you won’t find anything too surprising here, for better or worse.
For a mere $3.99, Bodyguard offers a pretty hefty package with multiple modes, upgrades, abilities and characters to play. So if you’re looking for a cutesy take on the genre, with a story that really goes down to the cellular level, maybe Bodyguard is for you?
