Rail Rescue promises fun but challenging railway-themed puzzles, coming this month

- Rail Rescue: Puzzle Lines is coming to mobile on June 30th
- Offering 500 levels at launch, you need to draw rail lines to rescue cute cartoon citizens
- Rebuild your town and interact with distinctive characters to learn their stories and secrets
It’s rather interesting to think about how popular trains have become for puzzlers. Aside from a myriad of other miscellaneous entries, there’s Short Circuit Studios’ Teeny Tiny Trains, and come June 30th, we’ll also have the upcoming Rail Rescue from Infinity Games to look forward to! What’s it all about? Well, let’s find out.
Touting itself as a brain trainer, Rail Rescue is rather straightforward. You simply need to draw a line with your finger, avoid obstacles and reach every one of the strange spherical creatures that need your help. It promises plenty of mind-bending puzzles to solve and levels to explore, 500 of them, in fact!
Aside from that, there’s also a meta progression angle where you slowly restore your hometown that has fallen into disrepair. You’ll get to enjoy the vibrant visuals and colourful cast of characters, of whom, despite looking similar, no two are alike.
Choo-choo!
There are, of course, other additional details to enjoy. You’ll be able to use power-ups to help you along or grab hints for more difficult puzzles. Leaderboards and seasonal updates are also promises, all with only optional in-app purchases and offline play available at launch!
Rail Rescue may depend on the engaging nature of its puzzles to draw in players. I could see some being put off by the cutesy cartoon visuals, equally, so it might engage others and draw them in by virtue of it being so fun and relaxing. Certainly, with that many levels packed into it, you won’t be short on things to do if you try it out.
But in the meantime, if you need other ways to put your mind to the test, why not try out some of the entries on our list of the top 25 best puzzle games on iOS and Android?
