Balatro Friends of Jimbo 2 is available now: Feeds Slay the Spire, Stardew Valley and more into the chaos engine

Slay the Spire, Cyberpunk 2077, The Binding of Isaac and Stardew Valley are the new cards arts

  • Cyberpunk, Stardew Valley and more join The Witcher as custom face cards in Balatro
  • It’s the second update this year, bringing the overall total of options to eight
  • The update is available right now, for free

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, how would Keanu Reeves would look as a face card in Balatro then wonder no longer because, among other IPs, Cyberpunk 2077 has now partnered with popular chaos-engine (well, they call it a deckbuilding roguelike) Balatro.

Also, if you were thinking that to yourself, well, you have some oddly specific thoughts that are being appeased right now.

Its not just Cyberpunk 2077 either, familiar roguelike friends The Silent from Slay the Spire and Issac from Binding of Issac have also joined, as have characters from Stardew Valley… which is definitely an interesting choice.

For the curious, Binding of Issac is available for Hearts, Cyberpunk 2077 Spades, Slay the Spire as Clubs and Stardew Valley as Diamonds.

As with the previous partnership with The Witcher, Dave the Diver, Among Us and Vampire Survivors these are alternative skins for the Face cards (Jack, Queen and King) and don’t offer anything than a nice cosmetic twist. Still, it’s incredibly cool and free (the best price).

Speaking on the subject of partnerships, Wout van Halderen, PR Manager at Playstack added “After we launched the first collaboration pack this summer, we knew we wanted to invite even more friends to join the party. Working with these talented developers and studios has been such a rewarding experience, and seeing their creations in Balatro has been a real highlight for both Playstack and LocalThunk.”

What’s next for furious, chaos, card-crime game Balatro? Who knows. I imagine that there’re more partnerships in the work, but the real question is, will we be getting some iconic mobile icons in there like Red, Barbarian or Jake from Subway Surfers?

If you’re looking for other twists on classic titles, try Luck be a Landlord, Peglin or Dicey Dungeons. Otherwise, check out our list of the best games of the year (so far) for your next favourite pick.
