Bella Wants Blood is a new, eclectic mix of roguelike and tower defence

  • Bella Wants Blood is an eclectic mix of roguelike and tower defence game
  • It pits you against the godlike Bella and her vicious minions
  • Craft infuriating mazes and prevent them reaching the end, or Bella will get very, very angry with you

Congratulations, you’re now trapped in the realm of a godlike being that demands blood. Craft mazes to prevent her minions from reaching you and satisfy her hunger, or Bella will get very, very made. Wait, did we say “congratulations”? Sorry, we meant “Oh dear.”

Because this is the main plot, and conceit, of Bella Wants Blood. Enslaved to the whims of the godlike Bella, this mixture of roguelike and tower defence sees you craft intricate mazes full of traps to misdirect and destroy Bella’s minions. Either create a series of dead ends and deadly traps, or one brutal gauntlet of gutters to destroy all that dare step inside.

An offline strategy game with plenty of replayability and dozens of levels to beat, Bella Wants Blood looks to be ideal for the spooky season. Although while they may say that Bella is “scary but charming” I’d argue that they’re much, much more on the terrifying side.

A Bloody good time

I always like games that tend to mix fun with gore and horror, Bella Wants Blood fits that to a T. I’m sure that strategy fans will also enjoy the twist on the tower defence formula that encourages you to actively build the lanes rather than simply place down defences. It’s an interesting conceit on the usual set up, and that combined with the brutally blood-red aesthetic definitely makes it perfect for a Halloween playthrough.

You can find Bella Wants Blood right now on the iOS App Store and Google Play!
