  • Play as a horrific creature and consume humans to survive
  • Evolve and grow your powers as you go along
  • Free trial with a one-time purchase to unlock the whole thing

Devolver Digital is inviting you to ramp up the chills this Halloween season with Carrion, the studio’s “reverse horror” platformer where you play the role of the monster. Use your nasty tentacles, amorphous flexibility, and nightmarish powers of consumption to strike fear into the hearts of humans who dare to stand in your way.

In Carrion, you can look forward to taking vengeance on humanity by consuming the unwitting individuals who held you in captivity. Wreak havoc across the whole facility and thrive on screams of terror as you grow and evolve, acquiring bigger and more horrific abilities as you go along.

It’s certainly an interesting twist to your average action platformer in that you’ll play the role of the “evil” creature this time around, but who’s to say who’s truly evil here? Had the humans not imprisoned you, then this horrific fate wouldn’t have befallen them, right?

Does all that sound like it’s exactly your cup of tea? If you’re on the hunt for more similar experiences, why not take a look at our list of the best platformers on Android to get your fill?

In the meantime, if you’re just eager to join in on all fun, you can do so by checking out Carrion on the App Store and on Google Play. It’s a “try before you buy” title where you can unlock the full experience with a single in-app purchase, with an expected launch date of October 31st – at least, according to the App Store.

You can also join the community of followers on the official Twitter page to stay updated on all the latest developments, visit the official website for more info, or take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the title’s vibes and visuals.
