Disney Speedstorm brings in Maui as its latest addition, coming season 11

  • Disney Speedstorm is bringing in another famous animated face as Maui joins the race
  • Inspired by Polynesian mythology, this demi-god was one of the breakout stars of hit film Moana
  • And while he won’t have his voice provided by The Rock, he comes replete with plenty of polish

With a stacked roster of characters featuring everything from Monsters Inc. to Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s safe to say that Disney Speedstorm is every mouse fanatic’s dream come true. But there’s always room for more, and hot off the heels of the release of Moana 2, everyone’s favourite demi-god Maui is set to join the lineup in part one of season 11!

Maui should need little introduction, but this real-world mythological figure (played to a hilt by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) was one of the breakout stars of Disney’s Polynesian-inspired animated blockbuster. Unfortunately, you seemingly won’t be hearing the dulcet tones of The People’s Champ providing vocals, but there’s plenty of polish to make up for it.

For one, Maui’s fittingly-themed skill, Hero to All, sees him send racers flying with a well-placed magical fishing hook. Meanwhile, the fully charged version sees him briefly transforming into a magical hawk before delivering a devastating counter-attack.

Boat snack!

Say what you like about Disney Speedstorm, but you can’t deny it serves as both a boon to fans and a great way for Disney to keep their characters in the public eye. Although given that Moana 2 has apparently shattered expectations, they might not need that much help.

I’d hazard a guess that Maui will place fairly high on many tier lists for Disney Speedstorm, including our own. His ability having him potential to knock other racers off-course, as well as shoot ahead like a certain blue shell means that this precocious demi-god will be a real hassle to deal with for fellow racers on the track.

And if you’re looking to jump into Disney Speedstorm, or back in for that matter, don’t get caught napping! Be sure to check in on our consistently updated list of Disney Speedstorm codes for ways to get ahead.
