Eldgear is yet another Kemco throwback that takes you into a world of tactical RPG combat

  • Eldgear is a new SRPG from publisher Kemco, out now
  • Find it on iOS and Android
  • Taking you to a world of constant warfare you’ll mix and match abilities as you battle

When it comes to publishers, Kemco is one of those that hits a surprisingly strong niche. They’re adept at bringing JRPG action to mobile, meaning whenever I see their name I know to expect something fun. And they’ve once more come out with a great new addition to their mobile catalogue as Eldgear joins the lineup.

Eldgear is an SRPG – the S standing for strategic if you’re not familiar – that sees you command not just your hero but also your wider party on an open map. Think a mix of tactical turn-based strategy and a more typical RPG. You’ll have all the fun of maximising your party’s abilities, while also being able to change up your approach on an open field of battle.

To help you out, you also have two signature types of skills for Eldgear. EMA (Embedding abilities) and EXA (Expanding abilities) give you multiple ways to approach a battle, letting you experiment to see which fits you best. Unlike Kemco’s other releases, it doesn’t seem that Eldgear is set to feature a free demo, but it’s out now on iOS and Android!

Old gears

Kemco has definitely made a bit of a mark in the mind for me. Certainly, I know what I can expect when I see their name attached to a game. Admittedly it’s a bit of a shame that curious players can’t seem to have a go at a demo for Eldgear, but I’m sure for SRPG-hungry players that this is a release they’ve been waiting for.
