Honor of Kings to collaborate with Jujutsu Kaisen, featuring collab-exclusive skins
- Tencent’s hit MOBA Honor of Kings is set to collab with shonen series Jujutsu Kaisen
- It’ll bring fresh new skins featuring the manga’s iconic characters to Honor of Kings
- And guess what? You can actually pre-register for the event too!
Despite a relatively quick ending, Jujutsu Kaisen has remained one of the most popular current shonen series. So it’s not particularly surprising that it’s still the source of major collaborations with popular games. However, it seems that, somewhat surprisingly, the next collab the series will feature is with Tencent’s hit MOBA, Honor of Kings.
The collab is set to feature skins for main character Itadori Yuji and his mentor Satoru Gojo, as well as an exclusive Jujutsu High-themed skin for Garo. Not only that, but you’ll be able to enjoy a series of mini-games and an all-new battlefield. Alongside the requisite themes for login screens, ranking lists and loading screens.
What really stuck out to me however is that this is perhaps the first collab I’ve seen (not the first) to actually let you pre-register for it. By doing so ahead of the official launch on November 1st, you can benefit from rewards including an Itadori Yuji and Satoru Gojo-themed sticker, as well as draw vouchers and tokens.
Nah, I’d win
While everyone debates just how much impact a newer series like Jujutsu Kaisen has compared to something like, say, Dragon Ball (which is a bit like comparing Lord of the Rings to Game of Thrones in my humble opinion, given the time and cultural impact difference) I don’t think anyone can dispute that this is quite the coup for Honor of Kings.
Coming to the West the decision to collab with one of the most internationally popular series is a smart one that means they can take advantage of the popularity of JJK while the iron is hot, and make a mark on a fresh audience.
