With 2025 now in full swing, and off the back of the launch of Marvel Rivals, you might be mistaken for thinking the house that Jack Kirby built was done for gaming representation for a while. But those of you who are feeling a bit left out on mobile can enjoy the newest, biggest Marvel mobile release with Marvel Mystic Mayhem, out now in soft launch for Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK!
While it may seem to be a typical tactical RPG, Marvel Mystic Mayhem distinguishes itself by focusing on some magical and lesser-known Marvel heroes. Whether that’s the sadly underrated X-man Armour or the vastly obscure Sleepwalker, you’ll be able to ally them with mainstays such as Iron Man and Doctor Strange.
Indeed, paired with some lovely cel-shaded visuals, you’ll recruit your team to battle the forces of Nightmare, a villain with the power to manipulate the dreams of others in a parallel world. Naturally, this comes from NetEase, the folks who also made waves with Rivals late last year.
Too much Marvel?
The only issue I can really foresee with Marvel Mystic Mayhem is the fact that this is yet another mobile release based on the comics. And for one it doesn’t stand out gameplay-wise except by virtue of its premise and some of the heroes included. Whether or not that sort of crossover bothers you, or if you’ve been looking for something with a bit of a different style to say, Marvel Future Fight, I think will depend on what people think when they get their hands on it.
