Sticker Ride is a short and sticky puzzler that sees you evading all manner of traps, coming soon

- Shortbread Games are back with a new upcoming release called Sticker Ride
- Evade all manner of lethal traps to slap down your adhesive
- Time your movement correctly to evade crossfire
Stickers. They’re either the most annoying thing in the world or (if you’re like me) a great way to spruce up some empty space. But don’t you just hate it when buzzsaws, flying knives and bombs try to stop you from putting your flashy adhesives down? No? Well, Sticker Ride will let you live out that dubious fantasy.
Sticker Ride functions simply, you push your sticker along a predetermined path until it reaches the end and slaps itself down. But between you and that are all manner of obstacles and traps that’ll slash that sticker to ribbons. The twist? While you move forward fast, you move backwards much slower, so you’ll need to watch and precisely time your moves to avoid being pulled into a myriad of lethal crossfire as you attempt to evade certain doom.
Sure, it’s not exactly the Shakespeare of gaming, but as with Shortbread Games’ previous release Packed!? and others in this indie niche, it’s an intriguing idea that’s seemingly executed well. Sticker Ride is slated to release on February 6th for iOS.
Stick it
Right now, Sticker Ride is in the early stages before launch, with the folks at Shortbread Games reaching out to us with an early trailer and some screenshots. As I wrote above this is part of that indie niche of releases on mobile that are relatively short and sweet, but I think worth looking at solely because of that.
Often I think we may give the impression that bigger must always be better, but Shortbread and others like them are hearkening back to a time when experimentation was king on mobile. Does that mean they’ll have some major hit further down the line? Not necessarily. But do they have to? I wouldn’t say so, they’ve got an interesting puzzler to check out regardless.
